Terms of service.
1. Lessons and Scheduling
Lessons are booked on a flexible, casual basis but will be held at the scheduled time agreed.
If you are unable to attend, you must give at least 24 hours’ notice by email or message. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be forfeited.
Tutors will remain online for 20 minutes from the scheduled start time. If a student does not arrive within this time, the session will be marked as a no-show and forfeited.
Make-up sessions or credits are not normally offered but may be granted at the tutor’s discretion.
2. Payments
All lessons must be paid for in advance. You may choose to pay per session or purchase a package of lessons. Packages must be used within the timeframe specified at purchase.
Payments are made securely through our website using Stripe, PayPal, or Wise.
For international students: any currency conversion or transaction fees are your responsibility.
3. Recording of Sessions
Online sessions may be recorded for quality assurance, training, and safeguarding purposes.
Recordings are stored securely by EmpowerED and are not shared with third parties unless required by law.
4. Student Requirements
To make the most of your lesson, you’ll need:
A reliable internet connection.
A device with camera and microphone.
A quiet space free from distractions.
Notebook, pen, and any relevant schoolwork or materials.
5. Cancellations by EmpowerED
If a tutor needs to reschedule, we will offer an alternative time that suits you.
In the rare event a session cannot be rescheduled, a full credit or refund will be given.
6. Limitation of Liability
EmpowerED is not responsible for technical issues on the student’s side, including poor internet connection, device failure, or lack of required equipment.
While every effort is made to provide high-quality tutoring, EmpowerED does not guarantee specific academic outcomes or results.
Our liability for any claim in connection with services provided is limited to the amount paid for the session(s) in question.
